Didja Miss Me?

We've been on a family vacation for a little over a week, and enjoying some incredible moments along the way.

Expect some posts in the near future about traveling with young children and homeschooling on the go, but for now these are the "snipits" that our family enjoyed during our recent stay in Minnesota and Chicago. What an amazing trip is was- for a family who has chosen not to travel much in recent years this was a very exciting experience for us all!

Here's a quick peek at what we've been up to:

Minnesota Zoo...

 Air travel...

 Lake Michigan...
 ...a Chicago style hot dog...
... chasing the birds- and each other- around Grant Park...
...the Field Museum of natural history...

(in the soil exhibit, as shrunken human beings)
(meeting Sue, the tyrannosaurus rex skeleton)
(and watching a 3-D movie about her life)

(and participating in a number of hands-on, informative, and child-friendly exhibits about our planet)
... just playing around with family...
 ... taking the "L" train...

...and even the ferris wheel at Navy Pier...
...and playing at the Children's Museum at Navy Pier...

...plus a boat taxi ride on the way home...

We're so glad to be home of course, but what an amazing week we've had! I'm looking forward to telling you all much more about it!

(By the way, did anyone see the previously unmentioned blonde in these photos? That's my sister, and she's amazing. You can check out her incredible home improvement blog here.)
