Go Fish with letters

This is the simplest and greatest game for matching lower- and uppercase letters. I was fortunate enough to find this set from School Zone very inexpensively, but I think you could make your own as well. The point is to play the age-old card game of Go Fish, but instead of matching "mommy animals" to "baby animals" you match uppercase and lowercase letters. I like this set particularly because it also shows animals on each card (whose names begin with the particular letter) so kids who are just learning to associate upper- and lowercase letters have a helpful hint on every card.

This activity could be used for a variety of learning experiences for kids, don't you think?

And yes, as you can see in these photos, we almost always eat snack while doing school. :)
